A selection of sensor modules which may be easily interfaced
to controllers that support the industry standard I2C communications protocol such
as the BASIC Stamp BS2P
or a PIC microcontroller using the PicBasic
or PicBasic Pro compiler. Sensors include
the TPA81 which is a thermopile array that
detects infrared in the 2um-22um range and the
CMPS03 which is a magnetic compass that
has been specifically designed for use in robots as an aid to navigation.

TPA81 Thermopile Array Sensor

The TPA81 is a thermopile array that detects infrared in the
2um-22um range. The TPA81 can measure the temperature of 8 adjacent points simultaneously.
The module can also control a servo to pan itself around and build up a thermal
image. Communication with the TPA81 module is via the I2C bus.

CMPS03 Magnetic Compass
|

The CMPS03 Magnetic Compass has been specifically designed for
use in robots as an aid to navigation. The bearing may be retrieved from the module
in one of two ways; either using its PWM signal or its I2C interface.
