 The
pocket-sized EPIC Plus Programmer quickly and easily programs
most PIC microcontrollers, including the PIC16C55x, 6xx,
7xx, 84, 9xx, PIC16CE62x, PIC16Fxxx, PIC14Cxxx, PIC17C7xx,
PIC18Cxxx, 18Fxxx, the 8-pin PIC12Cxxx, PIC12CExxx, PIC12Fxxx
and the 14-pin 16C505 microcontrollers. The basic programmer
includes an 18-pin socket for programming 8, 14 and 18-pin
PIC microcontrollers.
 Programming
Adapters are available for PIC microcontrollers in various
packages.
The EPIC Plus Programmer will not program or read the
PIC16C5x or 17C4x series of PIC microcontrollers. Please
check the list of supported
devices before ordering.

The EPIC Plus Programmer is software upgradeable for
future PIC microcontrollers. It includes DOS and Windows
95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP programming software and a PIC microcontroller
macro assembler that works with both the Microchip mnemonics
and "8051" style mnemonics. Any assembler or compiler for
PIC microcontrollers can be used to create the program,
including MPASM, CCS C,
PicBasic, or
PicBasic Pro.
The EPIC Plus Programmer runs off two 9-volt batteries
or the recommended AC Adapter.
It plugs into the PC parallel printer port using an optional
25-pin male to 25-pin female parallel printer extension
cable.
A 10-pin expansion header on the EPIC Plus Programmer
allows in-circuit programming and the connection of a variety
of Programming Adapters.
